Government Degree College Haldwani City was established on 18 October 2021 at Gaulapar (Haldwani) and since then it is fulfilling the aspirations of higher learning of the youth. The diversified socio-cultural background of the students makes this institution one of the leading colleges in the kumaun region of Uttarakhand.

The college is affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand and its curriculum is formulated by the university which is implemented in the college. At present the college has 12 teaching and 11 non-teaching staff. The sprawling campus of the college has three faculties namely arts, commerce & science, and this college is recognised under UGC section 2F of NAAC. The admission in above programmes are on the basis of merit. In its long journey, the college has been consistently on the path of progress with many milestones on its way. Presently, the college building has smart classes, a digital library, CCTV surveillance system, and internet facility. The new building of the college is under construction in village Kishanpur, Gaulapar, Haldwani(Nainital), with well furnished science labs, hostels and many more facilities for students.

The prime objective of the college is to equip its students with adequate teaching-learning methodology in line with the rapid technology advancement and to develop a global outlook to generate meaningful employment opportunities on completion of their studies.

The additional support is extended to the students through prevention cell for the welfare of the student, career counselling cell, grievance cell, parentteacher association, Redressal cell, alumni associations, etc. The college organizes annual sports, cultural and union meet in which most students participate. The college is known for its academic and administrative environment, sanctity of the examination, and excellent results.
